PMT’s core navigation program provider, Global Navigation Software, has been working closely with us to add features to its NavPak-Pro product. We are proud to announce that the program now includes an AIS tracking module. In fact the entire program has been optimized for AIS operation in anticipation of the new USCG regulations due out shortly.
If your boat has an Internet connection, AIS and our navigation software, you can track your vessel. And there is no need to be in an area where there are AIS receiver stations. Our navigation software works with both AIS-A and AIS-B. The AIS-B user will especially appreciate the fact that our navigation software will receive AIS alarms, DSC and SRM (Safety Related Messaging).

Pittsburgh Marine Technologies has raster navigation chart coverage of the Allegheny River from The Point to mile 72. In NavPak, these charts provide complete moving map capability. The charts are custom made by PMT from official government source material. As with all charts in the inland system, these charts do not alleviate the requirement to carry paper charts, but they do provide the navigator with a great tool to reduce workload and increase safety.
